e-learning
development
The definition of e-learning
"e-learning
is the application
of computer
and internet
technologies
to facilitate,
distribute
and enhance
learning."
e-learning includes the use of a variety of media and techniques for learning, including text, sound, graphics, photography, animation, simulations, games, video, email, discussion forums, chat rooms, virtual meetings or tutorials, automated assessments, and much more. Organisations who have developed a blended learning strategy use elements of e-learning alongside more traditional learning approaches such as coursework, coaching and action learning to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
New Developments in e-learning
Time is often the enemy of a training programme. As time marches on, the business challenge continues to grow and often the training problem itself will change.
For example; suppose your role is to build a sales training programme for a major new product release. You need to reach out to large numbers of sales people and resellers quickly. But, you also know that six-to-nine months from now there will be an update release and probably new features and pricing. By the time you get your course published will it be out of date? Also, the product managers (Subject Matter Experts) are busy—how can you get enough of their time? You need them now.
The e-learning marketplace is now evolving and there are now new products emerging that will satisfy the need for e-learning materials that could not be met by standard e-learning development methods because of time constraints, short shelf life or perceived value of subject matter. We can develop e-content in weeks not months at a fraction of the cost of its e-learning counterpart. You provide the basic content and the subject matter expert -we provide the instructional designers and the technology. It's fast but still high quality and effective due to the expertise of our instruction design team.To find out more about RapidLearn™ please click here.
